From Mourning to Dawn - diocesan grief support group for widows and widowers

From Mourning to Dawn,the diocesan grief support group for widows and widowers begins a new session on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018. Mourning to Dawn facilitators (who have themselves also experienced the death of a marriage partner) engage with participants on an eight-week journey of transformation and healing, offering support and encouragement for bereaved spouses. This program is open to participants who have been widows/widowers between 2 months and 2 years. Sessions are held at the Catholic Pastoral Centre in the Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Road) on eight consecutive Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 11, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $35.For more information or to register, please contact Dianna Knaus at dknaus@sasktel.net (306) 382-0535.

* Canonization of Archbishop Oscar Romero - The Hispanic Catholic Community of Saskatoon will hold a celebration 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 20th Street West and Avenue O South, Saskatoon to mark the canonization of St. Oscar Romero that day in Rome. Everyone is welcome to celebration of the Eucharist, followed by a social gathering. Archbishop Oscar Romero of San Salvador was martyred on March 24, 1980, gunned down as he was celebrating Mass.

Our Lady of Fatima celebration will be held Oct. 13, 2018 to mark the Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun. The Celebration will be held at St. Mary's Parish (211 Ave O South) beginning at 6 pm with an indoor procession and rosary with the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, followed by the regular Saturday evening Mass at 7 pm.

La P'tite Pasto (Little Hearts Play Group)

  *La P’tite Pasto (Little Hearts Play Group) is a French parent-child program for children ages 6 and under and their families. Through games, songs, art and crafts, little ones discover the beauty of family, nature, friendship, and are gently introduced to the loving presence of God and to Christian values, all in a spirit of fun and in a language adapted to their age. Children must be accompanied by a French speaking adult. The program will run from 2 pm to 3:45 pm on the second Saturday of each month, starting October 13, 2018 until June 8, 2019. La P’tite Pasto is located at Sts. Martyr-Canadiens Church, 1007 Windsor St, Saskatoon. The registration fee is $20 for families with    1 or 2 children and $30 for families with 3 or more children.
